We dated on and off in high school, a lot of tears and laughs were shared. And when high school finally ended, Jake and I found each other again.
Unfortunately, when we finally were back together again...Jake had moved to Mississippi to start an awesome job at Canadian National Railroad. From then on I flew back and forth- from Michigan to Mississippi and then back again. Long distance relationships aren't easy, but a year went by and we were just as strong as ever.
On July 14th, the day I flew into Memphis airport, Jake got down on one knee.
This is the ring he slid on my left hand (absolutely perfect, am I right?!) It was a night I will never forget, and I get giddy just thinking about it. Since we became engaged, I feel like a whirlwind of emotions and plans came with it and I am trying to just take things one day at a time.
In January I will be moving to Mississippi to join my fiancé, where I will continue to plan my DIY wedding that will take place back in our home town. It will be no easy feat, planning a wedding several states away, but I am determined to make it work (with the help of friends and family of course!)
I have approximately two years to plan, as we are thinking June of 2014 for the wedding, but I shall waste no time. When it comes to all other things (homework, cleaning, etc.) I am a little bit of a procrastinator, but I
lets see how long this mindset lasts.
Anyways, I am so excited to really start planning. And I am excited to share all of my experiences with you! Perhaps someday it will help someone with their own wedding.
Thanks for visiting, and of course I welcome any input, advice, or just kind words :)
